Howdy friends! I want to share some background information about my Eagle Project for Boy Scouts (BSA). As most of you know, I love cooking and am passionate about food. So when choosing a project I wanted to find something that has to do with food. I started looking into homeless shelters and food pantries and then I came across an organization that helps kids! It's a great nonprofit that helps kids who are taken from their homes by CPS. The organization is called BEAR (Be a Resource for Kids) and was created to help kids with basic needs like clothing. I was able to tour the BEAR facility and it is phenomenal. They have BRAND NEW clothes, new car seats and toys for these kids. If you think about it, these kids are being taken from the only home they may know and probably are taken without clothes, toys or packed lunches. So they are lonely, scared and probably hungry. That's where I thought I could help.
My project is to begin a food drive for BEAR. This will provide snacks for the kids in addition to the clothes and car seats they receive from BEAR. Right now, if they are hungry, it is usually the police officer or caseworker that buys them food. And sometimes they may be waiting for hours to find a foster family. So my project is to provide healthy and fun snacks for them while they are waiting for their foster family.

In order to accept food donations for my project, I have created a wish list on Amazon. My boy scout troop also plans to accept donations from our neighborhoods by doing a local food drive. If you would like to help with my project please do! Any contribution is appreciated, no matter how big or how small. And I promise you it will be a blessing to these kids.
